Giuseppe Farace, photographer and journalist, was born in Naples and lived 12 years in Paris. He took up photography in 1976; he published his first article in 1983 on the magazine "Mondo Sommerso". In 1989 he became officially a journalist, as member of the Italian "Ordine dei Giornalisti". Diving instructor and skipper, Giuseppe Farace is an expert of sea, nature, and nautical matters; his photoreporter activity ranges over many fields from nature to tourism, from sport to archaeology. He has been editor of "Mondo Sommerso" and "Mondo Barca" magazines and chief editor of "Apnea magazine" (Italian edition). He is interested in aeronautics and collaborated for some years with the magazine "Volare". Giuseppe Farace published thousands of photos and articles on Italian and foreign magazines and showed his photos in many exhibitions. He was member of the jury of important international photo contests: “Festival Okeanos Montpellier - France in 1993 (president of the jury), “International Underwater Photo-Video Festival Marmara Istanbul Turkey in 2002, “Festival Mondial de l’Image Sous-marine - France in 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2001 (president of the jury) 2002 and 2009. Farace is teacher in photography workshops. He collaborates with the Association "Marevivo", operating for protection of marine environment, and collaborated many times with "Stazione Zoologica Anton Dohrn" in Naples, worlwide famous Institute of Marine biology and scientific research.
